At Southern Plant & Equipment we are passionate about supplying high quality, site ready equipment for sale and rental. Established in 2010 and based in Trafalgar Victoria, Southern Plant and Equipment has a long history of supplying quality earthmoving and agricultural plant & equipment to the civil construction, mining, agricultural and private sector markets throughout Australia and internationally.
We offer used plant & equipment for sale and rental such as excavators, dozers, loaders, off highway trucks, rollers, graders, and ancillary equipment, from 1 tonne through to 50 tonne.
All our equipment is thoroughly inspected, serviced and or repaired to ensure all machines are of a high standard and work ready prior to sale or hire and with ongoing support for the life cycle of the machine.
Our modern purpose built facility in Trafalgar provides repairs and maintenance services on all makes and models of earthmoving equipment by our team of qualified and highly experienced diesel fitters and onsite service is also available throughout Gippsland and eastern Melbourne metro.
Services include:
- Plant & Equipment sales of all makes and models from 1 through to 50 tonne
- Plant & Equipment rental long or short term, 5 tonne and above specialising in Bulldozer dry hire
- Consignment buying and selling
- Service and maintenance on all makes and models both in our modern workshop and onsite:
- From scheduled servicing to breakdowns and major overhauls
- Hydraulic hose replacements
- Undercarriage repairs and replacement supplying ITR undercarriage
- Onsite PM servicing with our purpose built service truck
Our Team
David Jacovou
Operations and Sales Manager
Beginning in 1999 as an apprentice with William Adams CAT David has worked throughout Australia as a Diesel fitter with extensive experience in the civil construction, mining, power generation, and agricultural industries before founding Southern Plant & Equipment in 2011. He is now the Operations and Sales Manager, procuring plant and equipment for customers and overseeing the day to day operations. David is first contact for all sales enquiries.
Ryan Hoddget
Diesel fitter
Ryan completed his apprenticeship as a Diesel Mechanic on highway trucks in 2018, he has extensive experience in the mining and recycling industries on wide variety of mining and recycling equipment working throughout QLD on various mines and sites, Ryan joined Southern Plant and Equipment in 2020 and works both in the workshop and onsite.
Ben Christian
Diesel fitter
Completing his trade qualification in 2003, he has many years of experience working as a fitter in the power generation, processing, civil construction and underground mining industries working throughout Victoria and NSW. Ben joined the team in 2022.
Ben Jenkins
Diesel fitter
Ben is a qualified Diesel Mechanic and has worked in the Emergency service industry since 2010, he has vast experience maintaining both on road and off road trucks and vehicles as well as ancillary equipment, he is also an experienced welder/fabricator. Ben has worked with Southern Plant and Equipment since 2012 on a casual basis.
Eva & Jenny
Admin/Accounts
Eva & Jenny having over 20 years experience in various industries with extensive experience in office support and administration, bookkeeping and payroll.
They manage the day to day office operations, company accounts both payable and receivable, and corporate compliance.
